As 2017 comes to a close and we begin to look forward to the festive period I always reflect on the highlights and challenges faced by the team here at Coles over the previous 12 months and what a year it has been!
As a business we have been through quite a lot of changes, particularly in our property team, as new members of staff settle in to meet the demands of a seemingly ever increasing volume of property work. Covering 10 locations across Yorkshire we get an amazing birds eye view of the property market and things do look very active. We were pleased to see the support given to First Time Buyers with the Stamp Duty concession in the last budget and this can only continue to support our housing market. Our team stand ready to assist those who are already on the housing ladder and those who are embarking on their first steps.
As we approach the end of the year it is good to reflect on what we have achieved to better assist and help our clients. The changes in the personal injury market has seen some retire and other cease to do this work, this has enabled us to take over a range of clients throughout Yorkshire and across North Wales to help those who have been injured with our expert lawyers. Our Commercial law team has grown over the past 12 months and we are now offering a full range of commercial legal work to clients throughout the region, drafting contracts, preparing terms and conditions and providing tailored specialist legal advice to businesses large and small.
At the core of our work is the Wills, Power of Attorney, probate and trust work and we have provided more advice support and assistance in this area than ever before. It still does amaze us that people do put off the planning of their affairs, we see so many occasions where failing to plan and prepare has dreadful consequences. As I regularly say, and if it applies to you #JustGetItDone.
We have supported SSAFA as our charity of the year, raising funds through a variety of activities and we look forward to handing over the fruits of our efforts and those of our generous clients in January. We have yet to make a decision on our charity of the year for 2018 but the shortlist is out for the staff to vote and we will let you know the results in the new year.
2018 promises to be another exciting year for us, we have plans to continue to grow to, heading further north, starting with a new Tees Valley Office based in Stockton in the first quarter of the year, and a relocation of our head office in Northallerton to new premises on Thornfield Business Park. All of these plans will help us to deliver our growing range of services better, and to a wider range of clients.
On behalf of the whole team here at Coles, who I publicly thank for their hard work throughout 2017, may we wish you a Happy Christmas and a peaceful prosperous New year.
Please note that our offices will close at 4.30pm, 22nd December 2017 and reopen, 2nd January 2018 at 9am.
With very best wishes
