Coles Solicitors are proud sponsors of Zoobin Surty Company’s dance production called British Bollywood Dance which is to be held at the Northern Ballet Theatre in Leeds on Sunday 24th July.
As well as Coles sponsoring the shows, Elizabeth Matfin who is a Solicitor and Head of Family Law at Coles will be dancing in it.
We have asked Elizabeth some questions about her role at Coles Solicitors and her involvement in the production of British Bollywood Dance.
Tell us a about yourself?
I live in York and have been a Solicitor for approximately thirteen years specialising in family law.
My main hobby is dance! I do Bollywood and have recently also started ATS (American Tribal Style) Bellydance which is a fusion dance drawing from all sorts of dance such as Indian, classical and flamenco.
What is your role at Coles?
I have worked at Coles for three and a half years as a Solicitor and am now Head of Family Law. I undertake a wide range of family work including divorce and children matters. I work predominantly from the York office but have clients throughout the country and even abroad!
I am a people person who is approachable and friendly. I offer a free initial appointment so clients can come and have a non-obligation chat about their situation.
Why do you enjoy working for Coles?
Coles is a forward thinking firm of Solicitors and it has been an honour and very exciting to be part of it as it grows. When I began, we had three offices and already we have ten!
My favourite part of working for Coles is meeting clients at any of our ten offices which are all in beautiful locations. With the wonders of technology, we have the capabilities of being able to work remotely which supports our flexible and national approach.
Tell us about Zoobin Surty Company and your involvement in the Bollywood Show.
I have been doing bollywood dance for over twelve years now under the instruction of Zoobin. Our adult classes are on a Friday evening in York and there are also classes in Leeds and Wheldrake. Further information of the Zoobin Surty Company can be found on their website.
We have done quite a lot of shows and events over the years and probably my highlight was being a dancer in a production called “Bollywood Jane” at the West Yorkshire playhouse which was on for a month!
I will be dancing in British Bollywood at the Northern Ballet in Leeds where we will be doing two shows. I love dance and getting dressed up in the costumes, make up and jewellery! We all have such fun.
